As the OG designer of the Subaru CVT shifter adapters I decided it was time to drop a new version of the adapter because there is now some competition in the CVT market in which I originally created. I did so because no other company had an interest or felt there was a market for this.
Yes that's correct, I was the first company to make Subaru CVT adapters, you are reading that correctly. Why was I the first? Well because other companies had told potential customers that 1) It couldn't be done or 2) There wasn't enough of a market for it, so they reached out to me and well the rest is history.
This version 2.0 is a slimmer and sleeker design. I have eliminated the reverse lockout look and streamlined it. It still functions with the pull up and shift mechanism and in the OG version. Unlike my competition I won't slander them poking fun at the OG design but I will say that it is totally a safe and solid design and has been used by hundreds over the past 3+ years. Yeah....3 PLUS YEARS.
Now the catch with my adapter, since I design and manually fabricate these adapters, they best work with my knobs. Will another knob work, yes. Will it sit as low? I don't know. Will it sit hi? Couldn't tell ya. What I can say is that if you order this adapter and then order one of my knobs it will fit very similar as it does in the photos. Will it be exact? I hand make these, a computer doesn't, I personally make them. So read into that what you will.
The top threads are m12x1.25 so like I said other knobs will twist on. How it'll look well I don't design or fabricate my competitors knobs so I don't know.
This is just the adapter and DOES NOT include the knob itself, the shift boot or any trim pieces etc. Choose this option and then choose a shift knob as well.
This is my personal design and fabricated part. With everything I make, this is all done on a lathe and mill. As stated earlier I am happy to say that I am the OG designer and creator of the CVT adapter. That should say something for the SMALL GUY!!!!!
Using another companies knobs is used at your own risk. Extensions and or taller shifters over 4 inch is not recommended but you can do what you like. This design is similar to my original and all my knobs are under 4" and I have had zero issue with adapters failing or wearing out. This is your risk. Heavy knobs are also not recommended. Understand that. I am not saying it will break but it has not been tested for anything over 4 inch.
Please confirm that your shifter looks like the one pictured in this posting. If it doesn’t this may not fit. Contact me. I make everything personally so I can adjust design if needed!!!
